We are home to the best German food in Colorado from chef Rita Bergstrom, and also offer a good selection of American fare. Our comfy restaurant is a casual dining experience, just like home, and we promise you'll keep coming back for more!
The Rio Grande Southern Hotel is one of the original buildings in Dolores and is the oldest continuous running business house in town, operating from 1893 to the present. If walls could talk, oh the stories they would tell...
“We recently stayed at the Rio Grande Southern Hotel B&B during our vacation out west. Its proximity to Mesa Verde National Park first attracted us, and once we were in Dolores, what a delightful little town it is! The B&B is the oldest building in Dolores, and the lobby has several framed photographs of the place through the years. It has charm, coziness, and gorgeous natural surroundings which reminded us of B&Bs where we have stayed in Germany. We felt very much at home in our clean, comfortable suite… WiFi if you need it, too! Excellent value, very reasonable rates. Highly recommend.”
“I was hesitant because there wasn’t much info about the Rio Grande Southern on-line but my son lives in Mancos and he said the locals highly recommend it. It was the perfect place for me to stay and the prices were reasonable. The restaurant was wonderful. They are becoming known for their Friday night fish frys. Breakfast was awesome as well. If you are looking for the luxury of a Ritz Carlton, this is not it. But if you are looking for something with more character that is clean and comfortable, I highly recommend the Rio Grande Southern Hotel B&B.”
